Deckchairs & cushions at Whitstable Oyster Festival July 26, 2016 22:29
Last weekend marked the opening of Whitstable Oyster Festival - a fortnight full of music, comedy and of course food. Not to mention booze. I need a drink to even attempt to eat oysters and last weekend was proof that I'm not alone.
We packed up our deckchairs, cushions and garden accessories and spent the weekend at the Harbour along with many other lovely stall holders enjoying the crowds, the music and the atmosphere in glorious sunshine. The Festival is now in its 32nd year and is a huge event - welcoming over 80,000 visitors across two weekends.
Despite the sheer volume of people, the Festival has a really lovely, laid back atmosphere. Whitstable is a super friendly and hospitable place and one of our favourite seaside towns. The Festival is on for just one more weekend (and this time, it comes with fireworks! Perfect!). If you are heading down for the weekend, come and say hello! In the meantime, here is a snapshot of last weekend at the West Quay...(check out that sunshine!!)
